Australia’s Homelessness Pulse is designed to understand public sentiment without collecting information that identifies participants.
What we collect
Your answers, current housing situation, state or territory and broad area type, meaning capital city or metropolitan, regional, or rural and remote. You can prefer not to disclose your housing situation. We also record anonymous campaign events such as starting or completing the Pulse and downloading campaign materials so we can understand whether the campaign is working.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for or intentionally collect your name, email address, telephone number, street address, postcode or precise location.
Keeping the Pulse fair
A random identifier is stored in your browser so one response can be updated rather than counted repeatedly. Automated checks, submission timing and hashed technical signals are used to reduce spam and unusual submission volumes. Raw network addresses are not stored in the Pulse database.
How results are published
Results are aggregated. Detailed state and territory percentages are not displayed until at least 10 people have participated in that location. No individual response is published.
How the information is used
Aggregated findings may be used in the live Pulse, daily sharing tiles, the free public report, advocacy, education and campaign evaluation. The findings describe participants and are not presented as a representative survey of the Australian population.
Your browser
You can clear your browser storage at any time. Doing so removes the identifiers held on that device, although it does not remove an anonymous response already included in aggregated results.
